Josh perhaps loved pizza too much as a child, and decided it was time to make a change! He read inspiring literature about exercise science and lost 80lbs at the age of 12 within 6 months. He also carried this interest as he trained to powerlift and broke a deadlifting world record at 17 years old. He graduated from Pen Argyl High School in 2007 as an All-star standout in Football Here he was a 3 year starter, and boasted 1st team Offense at Center and 1st team Defensive End senior year, additionally playing and starting in the McDonald’s game at the same time began to pursue his degree in exercise science and walked onto Bloomsburg University’s football team as a defensive end playing as a true freshman. However, his past trainers did not have experience in safe strength and conditioning practices, this caught up to him and he played through chronic knee injuries. As a result, 5 consecutive knee surgeries within 1 and 1/2 years made it clear: He knew right then it was his mission to prevent injuries in athletes early on through progressive exercise science research and practice, and that no athlete he worked with will ever have to experience such preventive injuries.
He then went on to qualify for early- intern for the University at Buffalo after his sophomore year, where he got the opportunity to coach defensive standouts, such as Khalil Mack and Richie Smith, under the Director of Sports Performance Coach Zach Duval. He won Juniata’s Strength Coach’s only Strongman competition, was awarded men’s 2017 Strongest Strength Coach, and was Northampton Community College first Strength Coach. He integrates all his knowledge into a science-based workout program, with persistent reevaluation to guarantee success for each one of his clients without fail.
